Frame Warranty

Warranty periods are set by the manufacturer and will vary by brand.  They will have either a one (1) year Manufacturer’s Warranty or a two (2) year Manufacturer’s Warranty.  If you have any questions, pertaining to what the warranty is on the specific product, please ask the Office Manager or see individual frame line warranties.  Some are listed below.

  1. Frames are warranted to the original purchaser from the date of purchase against any defects in materials and workmanship

  2. These warranties are limited to one free replacement of the product during the warranty period for these types of defects.

  3. Damage from breakage, accidents, abuse (i.e. sitting on frames, dogs eating frames, children twisting frames, etc.), or loss of the product is not covered by the Frame Warranty.  No manufacturer warranties are available on any Close Out, Clearance or Value Line frame products.  

  4. Some insurance programs require that Comly Eye Care use outside optical labs for the manufacture of our patient eyeglasses.  Since Comly Eye Care has no control over these outside labs, these outside optical labs will solely be responsible for the repair or replacement of your eyeglasses according to their own warranty and return policies and procedures.  Comly Eye Care policies will be inapplicable when an outside lab is used to manufacture your eyeglasses.


Lens Warranty

  1. Prescription Errors: 90 Days

    1. Comly Eye Care will remake any eyeglasses at no expense to the patient if there is any error from the valid prescription specifications supplied by the patient at the time of the order. 

    2. This is valid for any lens design

    3. Any remake will be made with the same attributes, style and quality.

    4. Any lenses from Centennial, the warranty for a Doctor’s change is 50% discount on the cost of lenses, however, Comly Eye Care will cover the balance. 

  2. Dispensing and Fitting Errors: 90 Days

    1. Comly Eye Care will remake any eyeglasses at no expense to the patient if there is any error from incorrect measurements.  

    2. This is valid for any lens design

    3. Any remake will be made with the same attributes, style and quality.

  3. Non-Adapt Warranty: 90 Days (excludes single vision & EMG)

    1. If the patient can not adapt to Progressives, Bifocals, Trifocals, Anti-Fatigue, or Office lenses within 90 days of the original purchase, Comly Eye Care will remake or replace the lenses at no additional charge.  If necessary they may be made into another lens design (i.e. Progressives changed to Bifocals).

    2. If the new lenses cost more then the original the patient is responsible for the difference in cost.  

    3. Original fees cannot be refunded. 

    4. The Non-Adapt Warranty does not apply to single vision lenses

  4. Coating Manufacturer Defect Warranty

    1. Material Warranty: Against chipping and breakage (lenses only) 

      1. Applies to 1.53, Poly, Bluetech, 1.60, 1.67, 1.70, 1.74 clear and photochromatic. 

      2. 1.50 Material does not have chipping and/or breakage warranty (therefore should not be used for drill mounts or nylor frames)

      3. Damage from breakage, accidental damage, abuse, or loss of the product is not covered by the Lens Warranty

      4. Patient’s own lenses: Due to the inability to control the condition of “patient own” lenses and frames, we cannot accept responsibility and/or liability for lenses or frames during fabrication and mounting

    2. HOYA Specific Coating Warranty

      1. Two (2) year Unlimited Replacement Warranty for: 

        1. Super HiVision Ex3 

        2. ReCharge

        3. Super HiVision 

        4. Polar AR Package 

      2. Two (2) year, One (1) Time Replacement Warranty for: 

        1. Sensity Shine

        2. HiVision / HiVision View Protect

        3. HDP AR/ Blu AR 

      3. One (1) year, One (1) time replacement Warranty for: 

        1. Poly Polar AR Package (PPP/ARC AR) 

        2. Easy Tint Hard (stock lenses)

        3. Hard Coat  

      4. All redos must be ordered with the original HOYA invoice and include the reason for the redo request. 

    3. Centennial Lens Material & Coating Warranty: 

      1. Two (2) year warranty or the life of the prescription, whichever comes first for all lens materials and coating

      2. Lenses will be considered for credit when lenses are found to be defective in material or workmanship, prior to any further processing by the customer.  

      3. Please include a copy of the original and Re-do invoice, along with the item(s) and reason(s) for the return(s). 

    4. Maui Jim and Zeal Lens Material & Coating Warranty

      1. One (1) year, one (1) time frontside lens scratch replacement program

    5. Lenschoice Lens Material & Coating Warranty

      1. One (1) year, One (1) time replacement Warranty 

    6. Oakley & RayBan Material & Coating Warranty

  5. MiyoSmart Lens Warranty: 

    1. Dr. Change Warranty is One (1) year, One (1) time replacement if patients equivalent power changes 0.50D or more

    2. Coating/Material Warranty is Two (2) year, One (1) time replacement

  6. Eye-M-Growing Lens Warranty: 

    1. 90-day doctor's change warranty

    2. Two (2) year, One (1) time scratch and chipping warranty for both the original and substitute pairs

  7. Outside Optical Labs - i.e. Securo Vision

    1. Some insurance programs require that Comly Eye Care use outside optical labs for the manufacture of our patient eyeglasses.  Since Comly Eye Care has no control over these outside labs, these outside optical labs will solely be responsible for the repair or replacement of your eyeglasses according to their own warranty and return policies and procedures.  Comly Eye Care policies will be inapplicable when an outside lab is used to manufacture your eyeglasses.   Note, you may not be allowed to change the frame or lens design once ordered.
